Are you tired of me talking about how fabulous Kenosha, Wisconsin, is yet?! I sure hope not because I have one more post for you! There are so many things to do that I decided to make you a guide with 8 ways for a sure-fire amazing trip to Kenosha!
A huge thank you to the folks at Visit Kenosha for facilitating and hosting us on our amazing trip to Kenosha! As always all thoughts and opinions are 100% authentic and my own! For more details, please see the Disclosure Tab.
Visit the HarborMarket
On Saturday’s from 9AM-2PM, the HarborMarket goes on next to the harbor! Make sure to make this a stop on your trip to Kenosha. Jam packed full of ready to eat treats, fresh vegetables & fruits, baked goods, and so much more, the market is the place to be. We recommend walking the several blocks for an overview of all the vendors before making your selections! The amount of vendors can be overwhelming, but the smells and sights are amazing. I loved seeing all the fresh flowers that could be purchased by the bouquet and hearing the live music.
Before we left the market I snagged fresh cherries and an apple fritter! I love trying these fried delights everywhere and this one was one of the very best I’ve ever had. It was full of real diced apples and had a buttery taste! I could have spent quite a chunk of change at the market, but pulled it in since we didn’t plan ahead! My tip: take a cooler for your visit to keep produce fresh!

Shop at Tenuta’s Italian Grocery & Delicatessen
It might seem kind of weird to stop at a grocery store while on your trip to Kenosha, but Tenuta’s Italian Grocery Store is a must! How can you not love a market solely dedicated to Italian food?! Tenuta’s came up in a Twitter chat about Kenosha, so I was excited to explore! We were not disappointed! This locally owned grocery store is packed with a large variety of Italian staples of canned tomatoes, olives, peppers, lots of different pasta, cheeses, meats, and more! Plus, they have a fresh deli where you can pick up even more meats and cheese along with AMAZING looking (and tasting) desserts!
We were so full from lunch, so we each picked out a dessert to take “to go” to have later! T selected Turtle Cheesecake while I picked Lemonberry cake! Both were so good and the perfect “midnight snack” after our evening at the Kenosha Comedy Club! We also picked up a loaf of fresh bread for my mom (our dog sitter) and she raved about it! Finally, we selected some pizza sauce with Tenuta’s own label! It made delicious homemade pizza!

Walk the Harbor & Beach
You can’t visit a lake town or take a trip to Kenosha without enjoying the shores of the lake! There are multiple options for this in Kenosha. They have a great Harbor walk, which includes art and ships. You can also head to the beach and walk along the shores enjoying the splashing waves. Make sure to also walk out to the red lighthouse on the pier!
Ride the Lakefront Trolley
When your legs are tired of walking through downtown and the museums, jump on the Lakefront Trolley. Fares are a whole $1 and it’s a great way to see the city and rest your legs! Make sure to take a ride up to Carthage College. The trolley goes through the campus and it’s a gorgeous campus!
Eat at One of the Amazing Restaurants
Kenosha restaurants are endless! From burgers at The Garage to pinsas or fish and chips at Slip 56, you’ll find something for everyone! If you love Mexican head to La Fogata. Grab a cup of coffee at the Daily Dose Cafe! Wherever you choose, you won’t be disappointed!
Spend an Evening at the Kenosha Comedy Club
While the opportunities of things to do in Kenosha are endless we urge you to check out the Kenosha Comedy Club inside the Wyndham Garden Harborside Hotel! Every Friday and Saturday night, catch up and coming stand-up comedians at the hotel! I know, you wonder about a comedy club in a hotel, but they have a pretty nice set-up! It’s a small and intimate venue complete with complimentary popcorn and table side drink service. Tickets are super reasonable price and there is no drink minimum. It’s a fun way to spend an evening!

Visit One or More Museum
When you’re ready to check out the history in the area and beyond, there are several options in Kenosha. From lighthouses to war museums to lots of natural history, you can enjoy it all! The Kenosha Public Museum is free and gives a great history of the natural history of the area along with the early settlers. The Civil War Museum has great displays about the involvement of Wisconsinites in the Civil War as well as those from neighboring states.
Stay at the Wyndham Garden Harborside
When you’re looking for a great place to stay in Kenosha, make your reservation at Wyndham Garden Harborside. The Wyndham Garden is the ONLY hotel on the harbor and make sure to ask for a harbside room, so you can watch the boats coming and going! The other great thing about the Wyndham Garden is its location to downtown and the entire harbor area so you can park your vehicle and walk to everything!
Not only are the views of the harbor the best in the city, the accommodations are top notch with fantastic sheets, great bathroom products, and super clean rooms! In addition, we found the staff to be helpful and incredibly friendly! Complimentary water in the lobby along with cookies in the afternoon always win me over. Did I mention the amazingly spacious workout room?!
While there are many great places to eat in Kenosha, the Wyndham Garden Harborside offers a great complimentary hot breakfast with options like oatmeal, cereal, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and more! Plus, the breakfast room is very big and spacious with lots of seating! (A cramped breakfast room is a pet peeve of mine!)
