Beaches, Burgers, & Boats in Kenosha are bound to make for a great weekend. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Kenosha is a great place to explore, learn about history, eat great food, and enjoy the water. You can keep busy visiting the many museums, eating great food, explore the HarborMarket, and more! But, personally, we think enjoying the Beach, Burgers, & Boats is the way to go!
Beaches: Simmons Island Beach
The east side of Kenosha is Lake Michigan. Here you’ll find Simmons Island Beach! This public beach is adjacent to a boardwalk along with a paved bike trail! Enjoy walking along the sand looking for neat rocks, walk to use North Pier Lighthouse, or just lay and soak up the sun! If you bring the kiddos, they’ll not only be entertained by the water, but also by the playground nearby and you can host parties or picnics in the shelter!
If you want to explore more beaches in Kenosha, check out Alford Park, Eichelman Park, Pennoyer Park, and Southport Park!
Burgers: The Garage Bar
There is a great variety of Kenosha restaurants that you can select from when you’re hungry, but there’s one we highly recommend!
After a day at the beach, feed your belly with a delicious drink and burger at The Garage Bar. This historic bar as been a part of Kenosha for a long time. What was once a local spot for the factory workers is now a great spot to grab a gourmet burger and cold drink! Select one of their signature stuffed burgers or create your own. Unique combinations like the Bronco Burger (a burger stuffed with bbq pulled pork & giardiniera and topped with pepper jack, onion tanglers, and bbq sauce) are bound to please your pallet! Grab a cold beer or a unique mixed drink to wash it down with!
Boat Tours & Rentals
Ready for some more time on the water? You can’t visit this shore town without a boat ride in Kenosha. What better way to enjoy it and the view of the shore than by a boat! While in Kenosha there are a lot of options to get out on the water. You can head out on a fishing charter, take sailing lessons, or head out on a big ship! Kenosha is known for the Tall Ship Festival in August, but anytime from June through September, you can take a ride in the Red Witch Tall Ship! Head out for a sunset cruise or for one during the day!
A Weekend of Beaches, Burgers, & Boats
While there are a lot of options of things to do, heading to the beach, grabbing a burger, and enjoying the boats in Kenosha is the way to go! What a great way to spend a weekend!
