Roseville, Minnesota boasts that it is Perfectly Positioned and after our (mine & T’s) trip recently, we’ve learned this to be very true. It is 10 minutes from downtown St. Paul and 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis! How perfect is that?! We had never heard of Roseville and we had no idea what they offered, but now we are ready to go back!! Plus staying at the Courtyard by Marriott was super convenient, comfortable, and a great place to call “home” during our visit!
THAT Cooking School –
Are you a “Chopped” fan like me?! If so, then THAT Cooking School is for you! THAT stands for Teaching, Heart, and Team Building. This is a great place for taking your group (of any kind) for team building or if you have a new team and need to break the ice! Heck, this would even be a fantastic place for a first date. Not only do they challenge you to create together, work as a team, but also have fun!
Como Zoo & Conservatory –
You will not be disappointed when you stop by the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, a free zoo! They have a wide variety of animals including penguins, seals, giraffes, and gorillas and there is also a Conservatory with extensive gardens! The entire facility is quite impressive with it’s beautifully landscape and natural looking grounds and I can’t wait to explore it more in-depth with the entire family!
Can Can Wonderland
With it’s unique menu and overflow of things to do, the Can Can Wonderland is bound to be fun for everyone! Enjoy a snack or meal from their menu, then head to the mini golf course or play one of their many vintage arcade games!
Minneapolis Sculpture Garden –
Located in downtown Minneapolis, the Sculpture Garden is located across from the Walker Art Center and features a variety of sculptures that are sure to appeal to all. The highlight for us is the wind chime tree! We love wind-chimes and the breeze on the day we visited was perfect for taking it all in! While you’re there, don’t forget to take in the fun artist-designed mini-golf course! We’ll be back there with the boys as we know they’ll enjoy that part! Plus, wouldn’t a family picture with the Cherry & Spoon make a great Christmas card?!
Science Museum of Minnesota
If you’re looking for a fun place to take the kiddos, make sure to stop by the Science Museum of Minnesota in downtown St. Paul. With three floors jam-packed full of activities and displays, there is bound to be something for everyone! We both commented that our boys would be drawn to Sportsology, which is an area focused strictly on sports! The variety of science experiments and activities dedicated to sports would be a sure draw to them!
Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking
Supper found us in St. Paul at Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking! The minute I walked into this place, I knew I would like it! From the decor to the menu options, it is sure to please! They use fresh ingredients and put a unique spin on them for everyone to enjoy!
Bent Brewstillery
Whether you’re looking for a unique place to have a nightcap with your significant other or a fun place to meet up with some friends, Bent Brewstillery is the perfect place! Enjoy their own line of spirits (gin, whiskey, rum, Poitin) or one of their own brews! Plus, don’t miss the yummy popcorn machine or their in-house puppy, BB!
Minnesota State Fair
One of our favorites is the Minnesota State Fair! From animals to food to education & commercial displays there is something for everyone! You can easily spend a whole day wandering the grounds and not see it all! Roseville & the Courtyard by Marriott is the perfect place to stay while visiting the state fair because it’s a short 10 minute drive to the fairgrounds! You can also use the fair’s bus and transit system and not have to compete with the traffic at all! There is a metro bus that will deliver you just three short blocks from the hotel. This means leaving your car parked at the hotel, no dealing with traffic, and a free shuttle to the fair! That’s the triple threat!
Overview
After having spent three days in Roseville, MN, I can’t wait to go back! And it’s true what they say, it IS perfectly positioned between Minneapolis & St. Paul! It is a vibrant community in the twin cities with easy and quick access to so many activities! T and I will be returning to Roseville with the boys for a family weekend get-away soon!

Yes~ Affordable and in the heart of everything! I am a huge fan of the Como Park Zoo, a free zoo that families should not pass up visiting.
We can’t wait to go back with the boys and explore the zoo more!!!
It was such a great day! I think my favorite thing was to feed the giraffe. So fun. That conservatory at Como Park is worth going back for if you haven’t done that before. It’s stunning.
I agree that feeding the giraffe was pretty cool! Our plan is to definitely go back and take our boys!!!
