Tupperware Pressure Cooker Review & Mexi Pasta – A Recipe

If you’re looking for a fast, weeknight meal, this pressure cooker mexi pasta is sure to become a regular on your meal plan!

I’ve been a faithful Tupperware user for many many years now.  So, when my Tupperware dealer, Mary Hopper, asked me to test out the Tupperware Pressure Cooker and compare it to my Instant Pot, I was more than willing!

My Love for Tupperware

I had my first Tupperware party about 9-10 years ago and have been hooked ever since!  I’ve actually had two different parties in my adult days and I’m always finding something new that becomes my favorite item!  I featured a few of my favorites back in February!  Check them out here!

Make Roasted Shredded Chicken in Your Instant Pot!

Tupperware Pressure Cooker vs. Instant Pot

Mary, my Tupperware consultant, knows how much I use my Instant Pot!  I use it the most for making roasted shredded chicken, hard boiled eggs, and in the summer for making tomato sauce!   But, I also make supper in the Instant Pot several times a month!  In fact, my Instant Pot Minute Steak is one of my most popular recipes here on my blog! So, when she asked me to try out the Tupperware Pressure Cooker and give her and my followers an honest review, I said “YES!” enthusiastically!

So, after using it for several weeks and giving it a try, here’s what I think!

Homemade Tomato Sauce is super easy in your Instant Pot

Cons

  • It doesn’t hold as much as my electric pressure cooker.  Or at least it doesn’t seem like it!
  • I couldn’t figure out how to make hard-boiled eggs in it!  I’m sure it’s possible, I just couldn’t get it figured out!
  • It’s not dishwasher safe!  Even though it’s not dishwasher safe, I will say that it cleans up pretty well even by hand-washing it.  I really didn’t find much that stuck too hard and was difficult to remove.
  • You have to wait for the cooker to release pressure naturally, there isn’t a manual release.

Pros:

  • The cooker is much smaller than the electric Instant Pot, so it’s much easier to store and move around.
  • You don’t have to figure the time that it takes the pot to come to pressure!  With an Instant Pot, the cook time is just part of the equation.  The cook time occurs AFTER the pot comes to pressure.  With the Tupperware Pressure Cooker, if it says cook in the microwave for 15 minutes, it’s 15 minutes.
  • The natural pressure release occurs relatively faster than the Instant Pot.
  • Using the Tupperware Pressure Cooker doesn’t heat up your kitchen in the hot summertime.
  • It cleans up very easily with soap & water.

So, overall, the Tupperware Pressure Cooker has won me over!  In fact, I’m dragging my feet on returning it to Mary because I love it so much!  And, thanks to the Pressure Cooker, I developed this recipe that my family loves!  It’s tasty and super easy!

Mexi Pasta – A Dump Recipe

We love almost anything with a Mexican twist in our house!  It’s usually the one cuisine that always tastes good.  I tried a couple recipes that went along with the Tupperware Pressure Cooker and none of them were hits in our house, so I thought I’d make one of my own!  Queso is also a popular food in our house and this taste like a homemade queso, so it can’t be bad, right?!

  • 1 lb ground beef browned
  • 1 can whole kernel corn drained
  • 1 can Ro-Tel

  • 2 cups dry pasta
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese

Instructions

  • Add in the next 5 ingredients and stir thoroughly to combine
  • Place the pressure cooker lid on the base and seal, microwave for 12 minutes, let the pressure cooker naturally release
  • Remove the lid and add the cream cheese and shredded cheese, stirring thoroughly.
  • Once melted, enjoy

I love how easy this recipe is!  Just dump everything together and let the pressure cooker and microwave do the work!  Of course, in my house it must reheat well and this does!  I store it in my Tupperware Vent & Serve containers with the removable tags, so T can easily grab a container from the freezer and heat it up for lunch!

Give it this pressure cooker mexi pasta a try! I’d love to know what you think!  Also, if haven’t snagged the Tupperware Pressure Cooker, you can mix it up in your Instant Pot by setting the cook time to 4 minutes and a quick release!  If you’re ready to purchase the Pressure Cooker, you can do so here

  1. I have wondered how it worked. I used to have the 3 layer Tupperware Micro Cooker and used it all of the time. That was eons ago and I finally donated it someplace because my cooking style changed and I wasn’t using it anymore. This little beauty looks pretty appealing but I would have to have a lot of recipes given to me to make me feel like I could make it work. Thanks for the great review.

    1. Bethann– basically any recipe that goes in to the instant pot can go in the pressure cooker! As long as you have enough liquid in there, you can pretty much just dump and it turns out! 🙂

      1. Hello, Becky. I just purchased the Tupperware pressure cooker. I would love some new recipes to cook in it. Just let me know how much to send me some recipes, please. I don’t have a printer, so if you could print and mail me some, I’d be very greatful.
