2017 Reflections

The New Year is here! 2018 is upon us and I’m not 100% sure how it came so fast! I’m not one for resolutions.  I probably should set goals and I probably should choose a mantra in life! But, I don’t do any of these things! I do like to talk a lot about what I’ve learned and how I can apply that to my life going forward.  For me, these reflections help me focus on the new year!

Reflections

So, what did I learn in 2017?

  • Don’t underestimate yourself – I was given many new opportunities this year.  Grateful is the best way to describe how I feel about these opportunities.  I’m so glad that the people who selected me for these opportunities had more faith in me than I did.they taught me a valuable lesson to not underestimate myself.  I am more confident going forward into the new year than ever before!
  • Be More Present – It’s easy when you have a blog and a social media presence to want to document everything you do and everywhere you go.  But it’s ok to be more present in your life.  This year as we’ve gone on adventures with the boys, I’ve worked hard to find a balance of documenting it through social media and also just being present with our family!  I will continue to strive for this balance in 2018.
  • Be Ok With Not Having It All Together – I don’t even want to count the number of times that I didn’t have it all together this year!  I think the number of times that I didn’t have it together would far outweigh the number of times that I did!  I’ve also learned to be more ok with it!  It’s ok if I don’t have meals planned all the time and it’s ok that my house is a little messier.  I have my three favorite guys, my family, my fur baby, a warm home, and a job that I enjoy!  Life is good, even if I don’t have it all together!

The Conclusion

At the end of the day, 2017 went so fast, the boys grew a ton, and T and I are stronger in our marriage than ever before!  Life is good and I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings us!  Cheers to you and 2018!
