Their town square is surrounded by several locally owned shops to explore, which is essential in a girls trip, right?! Break up the shopping with a hike at nearby Fort Defiance or take a walk on their paved bike trail! What girls trip is complete without a coffee shop and Central Perk is perfect!

Okoboji

Iowa’s Great Lakes is well known as a summer boating destination, but we found there is so much to do there without even venturing out onto the water! Okoboji is a great place for an Iowa girls trip! Try something new like aerial yoga or head to Arnold’s Park for something fun like a pinball tournament. There is golfing, a winery, pumpkin patch, and more! Did I mention have delicious meals waterside?! Don’t forget a fantastic resort to relax at!

Whether you’re looking to plan a winter or summer Iowa girls trip, Charles City is a great destination! Staying at Red Cedar Lodge or Sherman House Bed & Breakfast is a must to start! Grab coffee, shop, walk through Waterfront Park along the Cedar Rive and more! If you’re visiting in the summer, go kayaking, golf, and more! Make sure to stop at Otto’s Oasis to explore their gifts, greenhouse, and more! And for sure, relax at Saint Charles Brewing Company! So many reasons to visit!

Grinnell

Grinnell is bursting with an amazing downtown, but this isn’t the only reason for planning a trip here for the ladies! In the last couple years, Hotel Grinnell has opened and it’s the perfect spot to get away to! Spacious suites or even their bunkroom is perfect for you and your friends. No need to leave the premise for drinks & nosh, head down to the Periodic Table. If you do want to leave and explore you’ll find locally owned restaurants and shops in their downtown!

Pella

Located just about 45 minutes East and slightly south of Des Moines, you’ll find the Dutch capital of Iowa, Pella! This is a great place to take an Iowa girls trip for so many reasons! Downtown is the newly renovated and chic Royal Amsterdam Hotel, which gives you walking access to most everything! Spend time downtown, which is jam packed with great places to eat, shops to explore, and places to unwind like the Wijn House! Outside town, you can do a chocolate and wine pairing at Tassell Ridge Winery!

Audubon

Located in West Central Iowa, Audubon County needs to be on your list of places to visit as one of your Iowa girls trips. It is an unassuming small Iowa community with lots to offer and a great place to have a girls weekend! Locally owned shops, great eats, a beautiful lodge to stay in, and more make this a great place to relax, unwind, and just spend time together!

Elk Horn

Not far from Audubon you’ll find Elk Horn. This strong Danish community is the epitome of small town warm and welcoming! While it’s only a community of 600, you’ll find lots to do. It may not be your typical destination to pick from for Iowa girls trips, but we promise you’ll leave in love with this destination! Explore several locally owned shops, along with the plethora of great places to eat. If that isn’t enough there are several ways to learn about the Danish heritage and culture! It’s a fun community to explore and get to know.
