Our 5 Year Anniversary!

I can’t believe it’s our 5 year anniversary! I’m not entirely sure where the 5 years have gone! It’s gone so fast and yet it seems like we’ve been married for three times that! For our anniversary this year, I decided to share some candid photos from our wedding day that I think describe our marriage the best and also the day we said “I do!”

I had not decided, even on the day of our wedding, if I wanted to see T before our ceremony.  I didn’t think I wanted to, but when it came down to it, I needed him.  He is my rock and has been for over 5 years now.  It was the best decision I made that day (other than saying “I do” to him)!  I made my best friend go get him and bring him to me!

When I’m sad, I cry….When I’m mad, I cry…when I’m happy, I cry!  It’s what I do!  I cried a lot the day of our wedding.  Thankfully, I’m happy to report it was all incredibly happy tears!  😉  I love that our photographer (one of the three) caught this shot because it perfectly describes us!  I’m bawling and I look up and T waved to me with the goofiest look on his face and I couldn’t help but laugh in the middle of my tears!  He’s always doing whatever he can to make me happy, feel safe, relieved, and more.  He truly takes care of me!

This shot was after we walked out of the ceremony before we started greeting people.  I think it perfectly captures our love for each other!  (And seriously…weren’t my flowers absolutely gorgeous!  I had the best florist!)

I mean, really….what’s not to love about this kid?!  I’ve had so much fun watching him grow and mature over the last 5 years!  3 more years and he’s out of the house…I’m dreading it!  I love the young man he’s turned into and thoroughly enjoy spending time with him and I dread the day when he’s gone!  I’ve been blessed with him in my life!

This one….oh my has he taught me a lot about being a parent in the last 5 years!  He’s taught me grace, patience, and to relax a little!  You have to with him around…you can tell from those brown eyes, right?!  I can’t believe how much he’s grown and is starting to become a young man!  We’ve had a special connection from the beginning and I’m a better person because I’ve gotten to be his step-mom!

Yup, that’s our marriage!  We laugh a lot!  T always has me laughing!  There is nothing better than being married to him, a step-mom to those two boys, and doing life together!  People say that the first couple years you are married are the toughest…well, if that’s as bad as it gets then the next 5 are going to be absolutely amazing!  I love you T, thanks for choosing me!
