One of the greatest things about the North Iowa Bloggers is that when one of them falls, everyone else is around to pick them up! That’s why when I heard that one of them had been diagnosed with MS, I knew that I wanted to help!
I have to admit…I knew Laura Meyer of Speaking of Laura for several months (she had done some graphic design work for me including creating my logo over at Social Impact) without ever knowing that she had been diagnosed with MS. One of the first things that struck me about Laura when I met her was her vibrancy for life! She’s incredibly upbeat, creative, and outgoing. I would never have guessed that she was struggling with something so serious.
In the summer of 2007, Laura began to experience numbness over 75% of her body and dexterity issues and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis almost six months later! Laura says that for awhile she worried every day if something would happen, but she has come to find that worrying doesn’t make anything better and she just has to keep continuing on. Exercising and staying active has helped and she’s been lucky to not have an attack in about a year. According to the Walk MS website, multiple sclerosis is:
a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. It is thought to be an immune-mediated disorder, in which the immune system incorrectly attacks healthy tissue in the CNS
Laura is very active with the Walk MS Society and has participated in several events including an event at Lake Time Brewery in Clear Lake where she and her friends dusted off their waitressing skills and were able to raise over $700! Recently, she walked in the MS Walk at South Bridge Mall in Mason City. Her goal is to raise $2000 and she is at $1163.74! So, what better way to celebrate spring than helping a friend out. During the month of May, I will be donating 50 cents for every comment left here AND on my Social Impact blog, so make sure you head over there and “double dip” to help Laura!!
If you would like to donate directly to Laura and her team, you can do so HERE!

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was 52 years old 4 years ago. The Bafiertam did very little to help me. The medical team did even less. My decline was rapid and devastating. It was muscle weakness at first, then my hands and tremors. Last year, a family friend told us about Natural Herbs Centre and their successful MS Ayurveda TREATMENT, we visited their website naturalherbscentre. com and ordered their Multiple Sclerosis Ayurveda protocol, i am happy to report the treatment effectively treated and reversed my Multiple Sclerosis, most of my symptoms stopped, I’m able to walk and my writing is becoming great, sleep well and exercise regularly. I’m active now, I can personally vouch for these remedy but you would probably need to decide what works best for you🧡.
