Two weeks has passed already and I’m ready to update you on the garden! If you haven’t been, you really should follow me over on Facebook and Instagram because I give daily updates on the flowers I find in my garden and the vegetables I’m harvesting! I’m happy you’re here though, so let’s take a look!
The window boxes are slowly filling in and adding some bright color to the front of the house! A couple more more weeks and you won’t see much space between them!
The wild bed has been blooming like crazy. The daisy’s are done and the day lilies and other wild flowers have been blooming left and right. My yucca grass and hollyhocks have also been blooming and showing their colors!
The raised bed is doing great too! I’m loving the constant blooms of the Senorita Rosalita (the tall purple blooms), but I’m also loving the Coleus here and it’s filling in quite nicely! (Don’t miss the little succulent in the cement bear too or the Hen and Chick pot that was gifted to me by Beth Ann of It’s Just Life last summer!) The cement bear holds a special place in my heart as we had it when I was a child growing up. My parents moved it from house to house (yes, we moved a lot) and then when I got my own place, my mom gifted it to me. T grumbles every year about it and hates, but also knows how special it is to me and even repaired it a few years ago for me (you can see the cracks he filled). I love finding something unique each year for him to hold!
The vegetable garden is looking great too! I put all this credit on T as he is diligent about fertilizing it and watering it. We share the weeding responsibilities and the picking. Lately we’ve enjoyed (well, I’ve enjoyed since I’m the only one who eats them) lots of green beans. It’s about to the point to start freezing! We also harvested our first head of lettuce the other day and have many more coming! We even pulled a few onions (smaller they were) to use for homemade onion rings this past weekend camping!
My most favorite flower bed of all (shh, don’t tell the others), my lily bed! It is finally blooming lilies and going crazy! They will be blooming for quite some time now as there are some mature blossoms as well as some that need another week or two! My miniature rose bush is starting round two of buds and blooms as you can see it’s bright pink sticking out in the lower right hand picture!
It’s so much fun to walk through my yard daily and check out my different beds…see what’s new and what’s changing and I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour! Check back in two weeks for a new, fresh look at the gardens!
I adore your bear! I totally understand why you have to have that little guy front and center in your garden. Thanks for all of the lovely pictures today —made me miss you a little bit more but at least I feel like I can see all the beauty around your home! Enjoy!
Aw; thanks!! I will admit that I’ve been missing you something fierce lately!! I’m so glad you enjoy my flowers!
There is something so healing and revitalizing about gardens!
Very much so!!
So pretty and peaceful!
Thank you!! I very much enjoy them!
Your garden looks amazing! So impressed at how pretty your flowers are and all of the veggies you’re growing.
Thanks Jeni! It’s so much fun!!
