It’s Monday again…I can’t believe it, but thankfully we had a weekend at home for a change! I haven’t had random Monday thoughts in quite awhile..well, actually I have, but haven’t had time to jot them down! So, here we are!
The Cold from H*!L – So, about January 5th, I started the symptoms of a small winter cold…sore throat from post nasal drip, slightly stuffed up, etc. Over the next couple days the symptoms grew into a full-blown cold/sinus infection. Last Monday found me home from work, sleeping on the couch most of the day, and headed to the doctor! Armed with antibiotics, heavy doses of Sudafed, and nasal spray I spent Tuesday at home too! The bottom of my nose is so raw from blowing and wiping it that I now have 2 cracks in the skin! UGH! I’m not tired and worn out, but I am tired of having pressure on my ears, my nose constantly stuffed up, etc. If anyone has any tips on how to get rid of this cold from H*!L, I’m open to suggestions!!
Basketball is a LONG season! So, throughout the year we sit at a variety of sporting events! By far, basketball is the longest season! This is because we have two or three nights of games a week. And, in our case that night lasts about 4.5 hours! We watch R in the JV boys game, sit through the Varsity girls game, and then watch the boys Varsity game in which R usually gets at least a few minutes of playing time! Now, don’t get me wrong, I love watching R do anything, so I persevere, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t looking forward to a short reprieve before track season starts!
I’m OVER winter! I’ve noticed that the older I get, the less I like winter! This year, I am WAY OVER winter. To be fair, I was over winter about the 2nd week of December! In fact, this year I told T that as soon as both boys graduate and are out of the house, we’re out of here for some place warmer! Who knows if that’ll actually happen, but it’s good to dream, right?!
My step-parents rock! I know I’ve talked about my step-parents before, but since yesterday was my step-dads birthday, it seems appropriate to give them props one more time! While parents divorcing is never ideal for anyone, I feel as though I won the jack-pot when it comes to step-parents! They both are amazing people and I’m so blessed to have them in mine and the boys’ lives!
It’s the beginning of another week and I’m blessed to have a job I love and an amazing family,! I hope your week brings awesome things for you!
I hope you feel better soon~ winter crud on top of the cold and clouds make for long days! Spring is around the corner, right?
I’m looking forward to at least warm temps this week!!
I’m heading to Florida on Saturday- that’s my prescription for health! Love Basketball! My nephew played his whole life – AAU, 4 years high school , 4 years college- we watched a lot of it. Now, we root for the Cleveland Cavaliers and we try to go to games whenever we are out of town. So, we are going to Orlando and we have great tickets to the Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers game! Ok, this is probably getting to be boring, but I will end with- get better! Oh and we love basketball- so good luck to all your teams!
Oh, that’s so awesome! I have a soft spot for the Pacers as Georges Niang plays for them and he went to ISU! I’m a huge Cyclone fan!!
Hope you are feeling better. Colds are the pits. In every way. Hate them. Hopefully by now your little sore nose is all healed up and feeling back to normal. Come see me if you want to escape the winter. Of course we did have snow last week but we missed it because we were in Florida. I loved basketball season but then I didn’t have quite the schedule you guys have. We only had rec league games for awhile and they were not hours and hours on end. Whew. You are THE sports mom.
I’d love to come see you! Maybe sometime I’ll just run away! Lol!
