A Springtime #CharmVoxBox: A Review

Every time that Influenster contacts me to let me know I’m getting a new VoxBox, I’m excited!  It’s always fun to see what goodies they are sending each time!  I’ve gotten this one, this one, and this one in the past!  So, when I was notified this spring that they were sending me the #CharmVoxBox, I was extra excited!

Spring is a great time to be reminded that we get a fresh start and that means trying new things!  That’s what I love about receiving a VoxBox as well..getting to try new things!  In this #CharmVoxBox was the following items:

• McCormick Organics Taco Seasoning Mix
• Mott’s Applesauce Pouch
• Peeps Delights Coconut Flavored Marshmallow Dipped in Dark Chocolate
• Vera Wang Embrace Green Tea & Pear Blossom perfume
• Wet N Wild 1-Step Gel

I was super excited to try these items and I dove right in!  Here are some features of the items!

McCormick Organics Taco Seasoning

I already had taco night planned for our house prior to receiving McCormick Organics Taco Seasoning in this #CharmVoxBox, but what a perfect opportunity for us to compare the McCormick Traditional Taco Seasoning (our seasoning of choice) to this organic version.  So, what was our verdict?  To be honest, the seasoning didn’t have the zip or spice that their traditional seasoning does, which means we didn’t love it!  We found it to even be slightly sweet, so while we appreciate having food choices, we’ll stick with McCormick’s traditional Taco Seasoning!

Mott’s Natural Applesauce Pouch

I used to eat a lot of applesauce when I was little!  Like, I mean a lot of it!  One of my favorite ways to eat it is in a jello salad my grandma use to make!  (Maybe it’ll make a blog appearance soon!)    When I stopped buying applesauce, I started homemaking and freezing my own!  I still love it, but have to admit that I don’t like all the sugar that is usually added into it.  So, when I saw this pouch in my VoxBox, I was super excited!  I loved that there was no added sugar, no mess, and very tasty!  I can tell you that if I had small kids, these would definitely be in my shopping cart!  Heck, I might buy some just to have as snacks for when we are on the go!

Peeps Delights Coconut Flavored Marshmallow Dipped in Dark Chocolate

I’m going to make a confession!  I REALLY like Peeps!  Yup, I said it!  It’s one uber-sugary treat that I need to have each Easter!  I don’t buy a lot, I buy one small package and don’t usually even finish them, but I find them so yummy!  So, when I opened the #CharmVoxBox and saw these coconut flavored Peeps, I was ecstatic!  (I also happen to love coconut flavored anything!)  So, did they live up to my anticipation?  Yes and no!  I loved the coconut flavor of the Peep, but I didn’t love the dark chocolate.  I’ve never been a dark chocolate fan, so it’s really not surprising, but it was still fun to try them.  Will I buy any in the future?  Probably not, but that’s because I would just throw the dark chocolate part away!

The other items in the VoxBox?  The shampoo was just ok, the hair mask was really pretty great, the perfume (two different scents) was one I liked and one I hated.  The gel manicure, well I haven’t tried it!  You see, Jamberry has their own gel manicure system and I feel like I’m cheating on them with that Wet N Wild system, so I haven’t tried it yet.  I will at some point on one nail just to compare it to Jamberry’s.
