The Super Bowl is Sunday! Do you know how you’re going to celebrate? Are you someone who has a big party with family or friends? Maybe you prefer to go out? Keep things low-key? Either way, I have some ideas on how to make it a fun afternoon & evening.
Big Party Fun, In – If you’re a person who enjoys throwing a big party, invite your friends over and have them help you do the “work”! Encourage each person coming to bring their favorite appetizer to share! If you’re having women, have them bring a bottle of their favorite wine, then grab some paper bags and cover the labels up, have a taste test and have the women all vote for the winner…have a small gift for the winner (think $1 spot at Target or clearance from Bath & Body Works, fun napkins for entertaining, etc). Make sure to use paper plates and silverware to cut down on your cleaning up! I also would encourage 2 different areas…one for those who actually want to watch the game and one for those that are there just to socialize!
Family Fun, In – Have kids? Want to make the Super Bowl a family affair? Have each family member pick one or two favorite foods and create a buffet for the kids to enjoy! Have fun colored plates and make it a picnic! Depending on the age of your kids, you can also create ballots for voting for the best commercial.
Big Party Fun, Out – Want to head out to enjoy the Super Bowl? If you’re in the North Iowa area, I suggest heading to Hampton for a couple different options! Pit Row Pub on the east side of the courthouse square will be having drawings during each quarter and several more giveaways. Bring your favorite potluck dish to share and enter their soup competition to try and win a cash prize. Maybe you want some place to grab some food and a drink while you watch the big game? Willie’s Sports Bar & Grill will be featuring 75 cent wings, $3.50 mini pitchers of beer and buckets for $13.50! They will also be having prize drawing each quarter! Please, if you decide to party “out” make sure you have a designated driver to get you safely home!
No matter if you’re a stay at home kind of person or the big party kind of person, you can make the Super Bowl what you want it to be! Most of all, relax, have fun, and enjoy a great American tradition!
Love these ideas! I think next year I want to throw a women’s super bowl party!!
That would be a blast! I love that idea_
