Guide to Nashville: Where to Eat

You can’t visit Music City without trying a few iconic food items! Food is always the most important thing to me, so I thought it was only right to start my Newbies Guide to Nashville with places to eat!

Fried chicken is one of the ultimate’s and places like Hattie B’s, Biscuit Love, and 417 Union are all known for their fried chicken. Of course, mashed potatoes & gravy are a must with your chicken too!

Of course, you can’t visit the south without grabbing some bbq. Nashville has plenty of offerings like Jank’s Smoke Shack, Peg Leg Porker, and Music City Brisket. Whether you’re looking for beef, pork, or chicken, you’re bound to find some delicious smoked goodness here!

When you’re traveling and spending lots of time exploring, it’s necessary to start your day with a great breakfast! The options in Nashville are endless, but places like Pucketts, Biscuit Love, and the Frothy Monkey all get rave reviews for their breakfasts! Whether you’re looking for a traditional breakfast of eggs & bacon, coffee, or southern biscuits, you’ll find it all in the downtown area!

Guide to Nashville: Where to Stay

Of course, you need a great place to stay during your trip. Nashville offers a large variety of hotels in a variety of neighborhoods, something for every budget, and everyone’s needs.

Staying downtown in the middle of the excitement is the ultimate Nashville experience and with a stay at places like Studio 154 Luxury Hotel, you’ll get the highest treatment. If you want to stay downton, but are on a budget check out the Best Western Plus Music Row. Want to feel like a country music star, but not be downtown, head to Music Row for a stay at the Aloft Nashville West End. Any of these choices will not leave you wanting more.

Guide to Nashville: What to Do

It would be easy to get overwhelmed when visiting Nashville with the endless list of things to do, but there’s a few things I’ve put on my guide to Nashville for a classic experience.

Grand Old Opry

Visit the Grand Ole Opry

No trip to Music City is complete without to the Grand Ole Opry. Home to the most talented country musicians, the Opry is iconic! Plan a visit that works for you with options of a daytime tour, a Behind the Curtain tour, or a post-show backstage tour.

Tour the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum

Every country fan’s trip to Nashville is not complete without a trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. On hand, you’ll find memorabilia from a variety of country singers and performers. In addition, see the collection containing those artists who have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Stop by the Bluebird Cafe

There is nothing more iconic to Nashville and country music than the Bluebird Cafe. You can plan your visit to watch an artist perform at this historic venue or you can just stop by to grab a picture and take in this iconic stop!

One Last Tip

While you’re in the area, make time to visit the suburb of Franklin, TN. This adorable and historic town is a great place to visit for some quiet time away from the craziness of downtown Nashville. Located about 45 minutes south of Nashville, you’ll find a quaint area of shopping, eating, and even entertainment. My personal recommendation is to head to Kilwins of Franklin and grab some delicious ice cream and stroll the streets!
