I’m excited to announce a new venture in my life! If you haven’t picked up on it by now, two of my passions are social media (duh, right?!) and small businesses! For over a year now, I’ve been working with
Colossians 1:16 “For by[a] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
The holidays have recently passed and that means a lot of engagements happened and the impending wedding! Now, those young, excited, newly engaged women are counting down the days until they say “I Do!” They are counting down the days until they get to wear a beautiful dress and marry their “dream man!”
I understand the excitement surrounding a wedding, I really do, but I’m here to tell you young, newly engaged women, don’t count down the days until your wedding. Count the days after your wedding! That’s when life really begins!
Our society has put such pressure on brides everywhere to have the perfect day, more special than anyone elses, more unique, more perfect. What if we put the pressure on bride & grooms to have a marriage like that? If we, society, put as much effort into marriages as we do into the wedding itself, maybe our divorce rate would be less?
I’m in the final week of my first 21 Day Fix and while I haven’t followed it to a T (due to family Christmas dinners), I’ve followed it exactly every other day of the week that those dinners don’t happen on and I’ve had fun “playing” with my food. I found 3 21 Day Fix approved variations on foods that I thought were so great, I wanted to share them with you! Even if you aren’t on the 21 Day Fix diet, these are great “whole foods” to feed your body and just plain delicious!! Here are my 3 favorite current dishes!
Isaiah 9: 6-7 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the
For the past 15 or so days I’ve been working on feeding my body the good stuff! I’ve always been known to love food and not be able to turn down a cookie, ice cream, or brownie, but in the last couple months I hadn’t been feeling “well”. I use “well” because I wasn’t sick and I wasn’t unhealthy, but I wasn’t feeling the best that I knew I could. Enter my friend Shannon (from Shannon Ambroson Wellness) and the 21 Day Fix! At first the 21 Day Fix scared the bageebers out of me because I thought, “I can’t live on spinach”. Well, it turns out I don’t have to! It also turns out that the 21 Day Fix isn’t about not eating, it’s about eating the good stuff! Good stuff being whole, unprocessed foods! And, that’s what I’ve done!
Isaiah 54:10 “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.”
It’s Monday again! During the holidays the weekends seem to go faster & faster, right? I guess it’s par for the course! Today, since it’s the holidays I thought I’d focus on something Christmas related! So, I’m sharing with you my five favorite ornaments on our tree! It’s fun to watch ornaments collect through the years and hear the stories that go along with them, isn’t it? So, here are my 5 favorite ornaments on our tree (in no particular order)!
This ornament was made by one of my great grandmothers! She was always making things out of yarn and plastic! This is small mailbox (both my brother and I had one) and on the other side is the year we were born! I always looked forward to getting this out each year and putting the flag up! Several years ago (I think I was probably in college) my mom wrote me a little note and stuck it in there! I’ve never removed it! I love pulling it out each year and reading it!
Ecclesiastese 9:7 “Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.”
