Friday in Franklin County: Forever Yours

Have I told you how much I love the town I work in? I do!  You see, I get the privilege of working in one town and living in another…both within Franklin County!  One of the many things I love about Sheffield are the small business owners like Lori Sanders (and her husband Scott)!  They are the owners of Forever Yours on main street in Sheffield.

Unconventional Beginnings

While a lot of small business owners have always dreamed of owning their own brick and mortar store, Lori did not start out that way.  In fact, over 11 years ago her mother-in-law persuaded her to purchase the existing flower store in town from someone else and take it over.  Not wanting to see a business close in town, Lori took the risk and learned almost everything she knows about the business from Rita Reiter (who previously owned the flower shop under the name “A Family Affair”).  The rest as they say “is history”!

At the time that Lori purchased the flower shop and opened Forever Yours, it was located across the street in a different building.  Now, she is located at 120 West Gilman on main street in an incredibly historic building on the corner!  She said the beauty of the historic building that the shop is located in is one of the things that surprises new customers!  The other is the amount of items that she carries.  Not only is she a full-service florist that can handle your flowers for any occasion, she also carries a large variety of gifts including Eagle City wines, coffee, jewelry, West Fork Warhawk gear/attire, and much more!

Small Town Support

When asked what she likes the most about owning a business in Sheffield, she said it’s knowing she plays a roll in keeping a small-town going.  She also happens to be better at the job than she anticipated all those years ago.  Lori enjoys getting to express her creative side with arrangements.  She loves the small-town atmosphere of Franklin County and the opportunity to grow and succeed that comes along with it!

What are her goals and dreams for Forever Yours?  Lori loves her shop, but does hope that some day someone who has a love for flowers and the business will want to take it over and continue to grow it and take pride in it!

  1. I absolutely adore small town shops, regardless of what they sell. The older buildings, the quirky knick-knacks and interesting items they sell. And usually every small-town store owner is so friendly and willing to have a conversation with you. Sounds like a great store!
