It’s Monday. It’s Monday Night…does that tell you anything about how my last couple days have been? It seems that life moves faster and faster every day and every month! But, I digress..Here are my thoughts for today!
1. Two is better than one! Father’s Day was this past weekend and of course we celebrated T, but we also celebrated my dad and my step-dad. That got me thinking…I’m blessed to have two father figures in my life who love me and support me and my family! I thank God daily that he used a bad situation (my parent’s divorce) to bless me with an additional father figure in my life. My theory is that we cannot have enough people who love and care about us, so my cup runneth over!
2. Summer camp rocks. We dropped M off at summer. camp this past Sunday and it got me thinking about the time I spent at camp as a child. I have the best memories from my years spent there. I developed life-long relationships on those dirt paths and eating cafeteria food while singing my meal-time prayers! I’m grateful to my parents to funding those times for so many years! I can only hope that M develops the same friendships and memories that I did!
3. Weeding my garden has rewards. As a child and young adult I really disliked weeding my garden…it didn’t matter if it was a vegetable garden or flower garden, I didn’t like to do it. However, as I’ve gotten older…I love it! I love the therapy it provides with time to think. I love the way the gardens look when it’s done and I love how it makes my flowers look better and vegetables grow better.
4. Respect is hard to find. I’ve determined over the past couple of weeks that respect is getting hard to find in today’s world. It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about the workplace, the grocery store, or on social media….respect in today’s world is all but gone. That disappoints me and makes me sad for the future.
5. Nike makes me laugh. Nike, my beloved Shiba Inu, is one of my best friends. Her personality makes me laugh every day. She is also incredibly excited when I get home every day! How can that not make a person happy?! She’s the best!
Have a great week!!
There are still respectful people in our society, it seems they are harder to find. Social media does open a can of worms that did not use to exist. I love your garden updates and look forward to seeing the success you had weeding it!
Thank you! You are right, there are some respectful people, but they are far and few between.

Your post helps me focus on the positive today, Katy. There is a lot of it and sometimes we just have to dig to find it. You have looked for the positive in the world and it shows. And that picture of Nike is adorable. Who wouldn’t love coming ho to that!
Aw, thank you! I’m so happy that it helps you! It really is easy to get sucked in with the negativity, so these posts even help me focus on the positives as well.
