Tuck in at the Homewood Suites in Kansas City, Kansas

Deciding which hotel to stay at while on a trip is difficult. What isn’t difficult is deciding to tuck in at the brand new Homewood Suites in Kansas City, KS.

Homewood Suites

Brand New Hotel

When I stayed at the Homewood Suites just off Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, the facility had only been open about a month!  In fact, there was still a bit of landscaping and construction to be done outside, but that definitely did not deter from the beautiful facility.  The open, bright, clean, and modern lobby is welcoming to any guest, whether you’re tucking in for one night or a week!

The neatly organized pantry has a little bit of everything for the guest who needs something they forgot or have a craving for.  The breakfast (and reception) area is very large and spacious.  There’s nothing worse than going for a continental breakfast at a hotel and having no where to sit!  This is definitely not the case here!  It’s bright, welcoming, and can accommodate a large number of people!  You can also stop down Monday through Thursday for their managers reception with wine, beer, and light appetizers!

The Room That Has It All

Upon opening the door to my suite, I was welcomed by one of the cleanest, well-appointed rooms, I’ve ever stayed in.  There an inviting king sized bed, a small couch, very large TV (T would have approved), and a desk area.  Someone who was staying for several days could also take advantage of the full-sized refrigerator, small stove & oven, dishwasher, & microwave.  The kitchenette is more than that, but more like a small apartment kitchen.

The bathroom I fell in love with instantly.  One of my favorite features of a hotel room is when the sink is separated from the toilet and shower.  This allows two people to be getting ready at once without being in each others way.  The bright lights of the sink area were great for putting on makeup and doing my hair while the glass shower was inviting, large, and clean!

Amenities

The Homewood Suites in Kansas City, KS has it all.  A business center, a large meeting room if you need it, a pantry, continental breakfast, a good sized (brightly lit) indoor pool, and great workout room.  Fitness Centers in hotels are interesting.  Typically they are the size of a closet and have about 3 machines in them.  Not so here!  Several treadmills, elliptical machines, an exercise bike, weight machines, and free weights (plus medicine balls) lined this fairly good size room.  The Homewood Suites also offers a few amenities that are out of the ordinary, but fantastic!  The kids can burn some energy off at the outdoor basketball court and the family can gather around the grill in the outdoor patio area!  How fantastic is that if you’re traveling with a big group?!

In an ever growing city, there are lots of choices of where to tuck in and lay your head.  But, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with a stay at the Homewood Suites in KC!  From the finishes, to the all-suite rooms, and the outstanding amenities, you’ll feel right at home!  Of course, the friendly and welcoming staff exceeds all expectations!

    1. Oh no!!! We had one of those recently on our vacation too! Thankfully it was only one night! I loved this hotel!!

  1. This is the kind of accommodation I really like. Having the extra room of suite style rooms is so helpful for longer stays, especially the kitchenette and living space. Looks like this new property is a great addition to the options for Kansas City.

  2. I love the idea of the Monday through Thursday happy hour! What a great way to unwind at the end of a long day exploring or working! I love hotels that provide a “home away from home” experience, and this seems to be exactly that.

    1. I want to be comfortable in a hotel room like at home also and this is definitely one property that allows this feeling!!

  3. Staying at an apart-hotel/hotel with a kitchenette is definitely practical, especially for a longer stay. I have two step pre-ados and they eat a lot (and often too), having a kitchenette is crucial so we don’t burn our budget feeding them from room service, tee-hee 🙂
It does look like a nice place to stay whether alone or with family, for business or leisure. It has the modern-minimalist style to it yet provide a home comfort.

    1. I’m totally with you on kiddos that eat a lot! I love the option to do some of your own cooking or just stocking of snacks!

  4. Since I live just “down the street” from this area, chances are I’d rarely need a hotel here. But as “luck” would have it, my houses flooded when I was on vacation and my family and I spent all kinds of time living out of a hotel in the Legends area. The Homewood Suites look amazing! While I hope to never need to live in a hotel while my house is put back together again, this is a great place to keep in mind for “overflow” accommodations over the holidays when my house is bursting at the seams. ~ Sage Scott, the Everyday Wanderer
