I’m in the final week of my first 21 Day Fix and while I haven’t followed it to a T (due to family Christmas dinners), I’ve followed it exactly every other day of the week that those dinners don’t happen on and I’ve had fun “playing” with my food. I found 3 21 Day Fix approved variations on foods that I thought were so great, I wanted to share them with you! Even if you aren’t on the 21 Day Fix diet, these are great “whole foods” to feed your body and just plain delicious!! Here are my 3 favorite current dishes!
Citrus Wonderfulness
Obviously, the term “granola” is being used rather loosely. One could add chopped raw almonds to this to give it even more of a crunch! The little bit of sweetness from the honey and the roasted oats help to cut the sour of the grapefruit! I have a halved and quartered grapefruit pictured. Since then I completely sectioned my grapefruit and broiled it that way so it didn’t have to be done once warm!
Eat Your Veggies
I kept the seasonings on this asparagus to a minimum. The rice vinegar and lemon juice give it big flavor, so not much is needed. Of course playing around with different herbs and seasonings if half the fun!
Apple Fries, YUM!
If you don’t use non-stick spray, use a small amount of butter! You could also add nutmeg to the seasoning as well and top with the “granola” made in Broiled Granola Grapefruit. Cook as the instructions state, top with the “granola” and place under the broiler for just a minute or two! This would be a great alternative to apple crisp!
Over the past couple weeks, I’ve learned that whole food doesn’t have to be boring! I guess that’s all part of Learning As I Go!
Those apple fries look delicious!
They are!!
It all looks great. I do aspargus like that all of the time as well as broccoli, cauliflower and brussels sprouts. In fact we had roasted brussels sprouts last night for dinner. Yum. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve never sauteed broccoli or cauliflower, but I’ll have to try it!
I’m going to have to try your apple recipe!
So good and I bet the kids would love them!
My boys would love those apple fries. I may have to try them. Thanks for sharing on the Country Fair Blog Party this month!
Thank you so much! I hope they like them! Thanks for being a host!!
