Easy Parmesean Tilapia

I love fish! I love fish if it’s grilled, baked, fried, in fish tacos, tuna fish sandwiches and I could go on and on about how much I love fish! We do not eat enough fish for my liking and that’s mainly because T is incredibly picky when it comes to fish!  Due to his pickiness I’ve baked and fried fish several different ways to no avail! 🙁  Up until now, he’s only liked my uncles fresh fried fish, but don’t worry, I knew I would prevail!  😉

The Recipe

I have been craving fish for so long that I decided I would tackle the fish beast one more time!  So last week, I thawed out my Tilapia filets and threw together a quick breading, fried those filets up and…SUCCESS!

A quick and easy fried fish that is full of flavor!
Ingredients
  • Original bread crumbs
  • Parmesean Cheese
  • Lawry’s Season Salt
  • Olive Oil
  • Milk
  • Tilapia Filets
Instructions
  1. In a shallow dish, mix bread crumbs, Parmesean, & seasoning salt.
  2. In a fry pan, heat olive oil in pan so it is so hot that when you drop a bit of breading in, it fries immediately!
  3. Dredge the Tilapia filet in the breading, then milk, then breading again!
  4. Place in fry pan and cook for approximately 4 minutes on each side or until done.

While this recipe is super easy, thee are a few things to keep in mind so it is succesful.

1.  The oil needs to be VERY hot!  You want to test your oil before placing your fish in it.  If it doesn’t fry breading immediately then let it heat a bit more!  This is crucial for getting a nice golden brown on your  fish!

2.  DO NOT PEAK!  Once you place your fish in your pan to fry, wait at least 4 minutes before attempting to turn it.  This helps to create a crust of the breadin on the fish!  Also, don’t turn it more than once.  This causes the breading to break down.

This is such a simple recipe, but so full of flavor and the Tilapia holds together well!  While my fish trials have not been easy, I finally found a recipe that makes us all happy and that is part of Learning As I Go!

Give it a try!  Let me know what you think!!
