My Favorite Health Foods Plus A Giveaway

It’s hard finding health foods that are affordable, yummy, and good for you!  I’ve rounded up my favorites for this post!

It’s March and I’m in the last weeks of the 10-Week Wellness Challenge sponsored by Live Healthy Iowa! I am a part of the Iowa Food & Family Project team and I love the accountability of the team!  I also love that the Iowa Food & Family Project is sponsoring another giveaway this month, but more on that later!

This challenge also made me think about my favorite health products!  I do want to remind you that I am NOT a registered dietitian or nutritionist.  These are simply my opinions!

OhYeah ONE Bars

Sometimes you have a sweet tooth that can only be satisfied by eating a baked product!  And when I’m experience those cravings while focusing my eating, I go to OhYeah One Bars!  They are a great source of protein with very little sugar!  Plus, they come in a variety of flavors!  My favorites are Birthday Cake, Lemon Bar, and White Chocolate Raspberry!

Arbonne Protein Powder

I struggle with finding breakfast meals that keep me full, are healthy, and easy to be eaten on the go!  I recently was introduced to Arbonne and their products!  When I tried their protein powder, I instantly fell in love!  I use both the vanilla and chocolate powders!  Typically, I will mix 2 scoops of powder, a giant handful of baby spinach, and then some fruit!  My favorite combos are chocolate covered cherry, chocolate raspberry, vanilla mango, and my all-time favorite is chocolate banana!  They give me a great serving of protein to keep me full, but also I have the opportunity to get in a serving of fruits & veggies!

Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water

Of course, some might argue that this isn’t a health food, but for someone who doesn’t really like straight water, this is my lifesaver!  They have several different flavors that spice it up, but it also doesn’t have any sodium, is unsweetened, zero calories, and is all natural!  I personally like the Triple Berry and Lemon the best!  Plus, they come in cans or bottles, so you can fit it to your lifestyle!

Jolly Time Simply Popped

Popcorn is one of my favorite snack foods, but by the time you load it up with lots of butte, salt, and preservatives it loses what little nutritional value it has.  I am super excited about Simply Popped by Jolly Time!  Thankfully, Jolly Time has mastered microwave popcorn with just butter, sea salt, popcorn, and a little oil to make it much healthier and easier for our bodies to digest!

RXBars

I get up early (my alarm goes off at 4:57AM every day) to go workout, but I have to have something in my stomach before I do so!  My go-to is RX Bars!  They are made of whole ingredients and give me a boost of protein as well!  You can get them in a variety of flavors and I have found that I actually like the Kids version better!  I like the flavors more and I don’t need a huge bar (these are smaller in size), so they are perfect for me!  And, you can’t go wrong with an ingredient list of: Dates, Egg Whites, Cashews, Almonds, Cacao, and Natural Vanilla Flavor!

The Giveaway

I hope you find something on my list of favorite health foods that fits what you’re looking for!  Meanwhile, my time with the Iowa Food & Family Project team and the 10-Week Wellness Challenge is almost to a close and they have been so gracious to give me a $25 Visa gift card that one of my lucky readers is going to win!  You can use this gift card to purchase one of these healthy foods or even maybe some new workout clothes!!  Either way, you can enter below!

  1. Hmm. Favorite health food? I would have to say fresh raw veggies and hummus is my go to and if I don’t overdo on the hummus it is pretty healthy, right? I love the crunch. And hey–I am going to have to look for that Jolly Time when I go to the store today. Looks great!

  2. I cut out pop except for every once in a while and drink sparkling water instead. My favorite is Simply Balanced watermelon. I also love Arbonne protein powder and make shakes similar to yours with spinach and mixed berries. I received an air popper for popcorn a couple years ago and use it about once a week to make popcorn to snack on. I’d love to try the bars you listed but always cringe at the prices, so I’ll have to check these out! Thanks for this! Always looking for new healthy snack ideas!

    1. It is true, health foods are much pricier than those that are unhealthy, but it’s worth the trade off of being healthy! And kudos to you for cutting pop! I’ll have to find Simply Balanced and try it!!!

  5. Love the Oh Yeah! One bars. My favorite flavor is definitely birthday cake (although, I think that’s the only flavor my local Hy-Vee carries, so…). Delicious, lots of protein, only 1 g of sugar– it’s a win-win!
