By now, I’m sure that you’re aware that T and I traveled to Turks & Caicos this past winter! This was our first big vacation together (no boys) since our honeymoon over 6 years ago! It was past time! We had a fantastic time and I have commented to many people that I have never come back from a vacation so recharged and rejuvenated from a trip! It was fantastic!
It is simply heaven on Earth, so I felt compelled to share it with you all!
Beach Walking
We spent many hours walking on the beach! T doesn’t just sit in a chair well, so we would walk up and down the beaches! We found this to be just as relaxing as sitting in a chair! Plus, it gave us a great opportunity to find shells & pieces of coral!
The waters are so purely turquoise blue! Even on the windiest of days, they never lose their blue when you’re on the north side of Providenciales! Providenciales is the main tourist island the the series of islands! Grace Bay is on the north side of the island and where we stayed! It was actually rated as one of the top beaches in the world and we completely understand why!
The other thing we noticed was that not only do you have the soft, white sand beaches, there is green vegetation close to the water! It’s quite a dramatic comparison and helps make it absolutely gorgeous!
Long Bay Beach
One day, we took a ATV tour of the island (or part of it) with Fun Ride TCI and highly recommend it! It was a fantastic way to see parts of the island! On our trip, we got to travel to the south side of the Island to Long Bay Beach! The water was a different color blue, but the beach was just as white and soft! It was definitely less populated by resorts! It was a stunning view though!
Conchs are very popular in Turks & Caicos! You can find clean conch shells in about every souvenir store and conch dishes are frequent in restaurants! However, on Long Bay Beach, you’ll find this pile of conch shells that have been discarded and then bleached to white by the sun! It was quite the sight and if I could have figured out how to get my favorite on safely back while riding on an ATV, I would have!
Iguana Island
We also took an excursion on a half day snorkeling trip! Part of that trip was getting time to explore Iguana Island. This is uninhabited island that visitors stop at during the day! Iguanas run wild on the island and if you’re not careful, you might step on a small one as you explore! It’s a small island that you can easily walk across in just a couple minutes, but the opportunity to see these Iguanas up close and personal is an extra special one! We saw little ones and big ones, dark ones and bright green ones! (I wouldn’t be lying if they scared me a few times because they would be right next to you, but they leave you alone and usually run away!)
Turks & Caicos at Sunset
Of course, I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that sunset in the Turks isn’t absolutely breath-taking! The restaurant at our resort has the best view of the sunset! We enjoyed it several evenings!!
While visiting the sister property of Blue Haven, you can’t see the sun set as it is on the eastern tip of the island, but you also got to see the moon rise, which was pretty stunning in itself!
Conclusion
Our trip to Turks & Caicos is definitely one that T and I won’t forget! The views alone made it a trip of a lifetime and we can’t wait until we get to experience it once again! And…TCI is just as stunning from the sky as it is on land!
Where has your adventures taken you that you’ve seen stunning oceans and beaches?!
What a great trip! That pile of conch shells is amazing! We actually brought some home from Bermuda where they were plentiful as well. Great pictures and I felt like I was there! Thanks for sharing!
It was an amazing trip! Thanks for stopping by!!!
It’s been way to long since I’ve seen a beach like that. Glad you two had a relaxing trip.
I’m ready to go back already!!! 😉 thanks lady!
Brings back memories. I actually did bring a conch shell back from there. Also found the snorkeling to be fabulous there. Great photos!
Yes, it is fabulous! We also snorkeled and it was great! We brought back a conch shell back from our snorkeling excursion so I probably didn’t need two! Lol! Thanks for stopping by!!
The beaches are stunning! I love the way the iguana just sat there so chill. Lol! I remember when I first saw them in Belize I thought they were fake because they were so still! Looks like you had a great trip!
The iguanas were pretty cool, and you’re right the beaches are stunning. Our trip was amazing!!!
Those beaches are amazing! I’d spend a lot of time walking on them, too! 🙂
They are simply heavenly!
I’m with T – I’d much rather be up and exploring than sitting in a chair while on vacation:)
He convinced me that it was the way to enjoy our vacation and I’m ready to do it again!!
Beautiful pictures. I feel relaxed looking at them. Do you hope to make it an annual trip with no kids?
We’d like to, however I don’t know if the budget will allow it! We try to do at least a long weekend each winter without the kids, even if it’s still in the states!
Those beaches are amazing! We have friends who go back for a week in December every year. We’ve never been but clearly need to go. Thanks for sharing this beautiful spot!
I could definitely get used to going for a week each year! I highly recommend it!!
I’ve always wanted to go to the Turks & Caicos specifically because it looks so beautiful there! It looks a lot quieter than other islands from the pictures. Are there any other big differences aside from the view, the iguanas, and the conch that make it unique from the more popular islands? The higher airfare has always held me back when deciding where to go.
I really can’t compare it to other islands as Fiji is the only other I’ve been to, but the others we traveled with said it felt the safest by far!!
