North Iowa restaurants are alive and trying to thrive right now. This area is blessed with lots of great places to grab takeout food year-round, but right now, it’s more important than ever to support them, if you’re able! So, where can you go? What places are recommended? I’ve collected this list for you based on not only my personal experiences, but also by asking my readers and friends! One note…these are all locally owned joints, which is my jam! I love supporting small businesses!

Splitz Bar & Grill at Freeze Frame Bowl
Not your typical bowling alley, Splitz Bar & Grill offers a full service restaurant for carry-out right now. Grab a pizza, baskets filled with french fries and sandwiches, or even a steak dinner!

Dumont Community Bowl
Again, not your typical bowling alley, but one that is not only offering food to go, but giving back to their community! With donations and the goodness of their heart, they have been able to offer several different kids lunches for FREE during this hard time! They offer a full menu for pick-up along with daily specials! The reviews are raving!

Situated in the tiny town of Aredale, you’ll find The Outpost. Their menu offers burgers, sandwiches, and an extensive appetizer menu! Call them for take-out now!

Thai Bistro
This North Iowa restaurant is known for their sushi and other delicious Asian dishes! Currently you can order and pay online along with choosing your pick-up time. Just walk in, grab your frood, and go!

Delicious and authentic Italian food is what you’ll find here! I personally love their Chicken Parmesan and ask for extra rolls! A huge plus…if you’re in the Mason City or Clear Lake communities, they are offering free delivery!

Newly opened in Southbridge Mall in Mason City, the Sports Page offers a large variety of delicious eats and is known for their pizza! Currently, they are offering daily specials and are open for pick-up for lunch and supper!

Rustic Brew in Hampton is a coffee shop that not only offers take out coffee drinks, but also offer lots of great options for lunch each day. Specials like Ham Swiss Asparagus Quiche and Chicken Noodle Soup or Lasagna with Lettuce Salad and Bread Stick make your mouth water.

Willie’s Sports Bar
Willie’s Sports Bar in Hampton is home to one of Iowa’s famous tenderloins and actually placed in the Top 5 recently. They currently offer their full menu for take-out along with specials each day! Recently, we snagged Saturday night supper from them. T raved about his Prime Rib French Dip as one of the best sandwiches he’d ever had!

Restaurant La Amigita
Located in downtown Hampton, you’ll find this delicious authentic Mexican restaurant. Their menu is plentiful and times between ordering and pick-up are FAST! Plus, who can turn down margaritas to go?! My personal recommendation, the Pollo Loco!

West Fork Wharf
Locally owned in downtown Sheffield the West Fork Wharf is your ideal supper club. Select a steak, pasta, pizza, or a sandwich and you won’t be disappointed. They are currently offering pick-up and delivery within the Sheffield city limits! Supper is available Tuesday – Saturday and lunch is available on Friday’s!

Westside Restaurant & Lounge
Located in the tiny town of Alden, this restaurant is making big waves! Appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more grace their menu. My dad was just raving about their Farmer Burger the other day: Texas Toast, hamburger patty, topped with hashbrowns and cheese! My mouth is watering!

A historic soda fountain restaurant located on main street in Iowa Falls, the Princess Grill & Pizzeria has a very large menu with a little bit of everything on it. They also offer nightly specials and lunch specials as well! You can even order one of their famous shakes, malts, sundaes, or even an old fashioned Phosphate!

Cattleman’s has been a staple in the Belmond and North Iowa community for decades! Their menu offers salads, sandwiches, steaks, and more! Plus, they offer nightly specials like $20 Tuesday in which you get a starter, two entrees, choice of potato, oven fresh bread, and brownies & ice cream dessert for two people! That’s one heck of a deal!

I’ve heard rave reviews from several friends about Cafe Mir in Fertile! They source locally produced products to create delicious and unique foods! The pizza on Friday and Saturday is a huge hit along with Taco Tuesday!

Tequila’s Mexican Bar & Grill
Head to downtown Northwood to check grab delicious Mexican food from Tequila’s! Make sure to get some chips and salsa to go along with your meal and I highly recommend the Chicken Nachos, while T recommends the enchiladas! And don’t forget the margs to go!
