Thankful for Thinkovator

It’s not quite been a year since I started blogging, but I can’t believe how far I’ve come. When I started this journey, I hadn’t really shared it with anyone close to me. I was worried about what they would think and worried that I was going to fail miserably, so no need to share. Thanks to the constant support and encouragement of my friends with the North Iowa Bloggers, I grew, shared, developed, etc. Recently, it became very clear to me that I needed to be self-hosted.

In blogging terms, this means I take care of everything myself and am paying each year to have my website www.katyflint.com , no more freebies!  Purchasing my domain name (the katyflint.com part) was step one and I did that back in October.  Then, it was time to buy the hosting and move everything over!  While I consider myself pretty techy, this wasn’t anything I wanted to tackle by myself, but I had heard about the hundreds of dollars that could be spent having this done!  That scared me and not having any real income from this adventure yet, I knew I couldn’t afford much, but I also knew that I needed to make an investment to get my webpage where I wanted it to be.

LogoThankfully, it dawned on me that my cousin had recently started his own company, Thinkovator, recently to do just this sort of thing!  While, yes, he is my cousin, even if he weren’t I would be still singing his praises.  (Besides the fact that he was incredibly affordable!)He not only moved my website once, but twice when we discovered that the theme I had chosen wasn’t “quite” what I wanted in the new format!  All the questions I asked throughout the process, all the things I didn’t understand, and all the times I changed my mind…he never laughed, got frustrated, or ignored me!  He was

fantastic and he was quick to respond to my emails and questions.  Even though my webpage is all moved over, he hasn’t stopped helping me, still assisting me with getting everything tweaked just the way I want it!!

His companies mission is;

We believe in helping small businesses create new opportunities through technology and innovation. We believe it is important to start learning and using today’s technologies to acquire new customers or reduce unnecessary expenses, allowing you to focus on building your business and customer relationships. I’m so grateful to Derek and Thinkovator for helping me get set up to be self-hosted and settled into my new home.  If you’re in the market for a new webpage, updated webpage, or own a small businss, I hope you will check Thinkovator out!
